Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the card in the photo the card I'll receive?

For graded slabs and higher-value singles, yes — always. Those are photographed individually. Lower-value singles may use a representative image of that card and printing, with the condition stated clearly in the listing.

Can I check a graded card before I buy it?

Yes, and we'd encourage it. Every graded listing shows the certification number and links to the grading company's own public lookup, so you can confirm the card and grade independently of anything we tell you.

Why isn't VAT shown separately on my invoice?

Most of our stock is second-hand and sold under the VAT margin scheme, where VAT is accounted for on our margin rather than the full selling price. VAT isn't broken out on those invoices and can't be reclaimed as input tax. New goods such as accessories are standard-rated in the normal way.

Do you buy cards?

Every day. Singles, sealed, slabs, bulk and whole collections. We make separate cash and credit offers, and credit is always worth more. See Sell or Trade.

Do you take trade-ins against a purchase?

Yes. Bring cards in against anything we stock and we'll work out the difference. Part-exchange is often the cheapest way to move up to a bigger card.

How do you decide condition?

By hand, against the standard NM / LP / MP / HP scale, rounding down where a card sits on the boundary. Our Grading & Condition Guide spells out exactly what each grade means.

Can I collect instead of paying postage?

Not just yet — click and collect is coming soon. Once it's live you'll be able to choose it at checkout and collect from 559 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, usually within the hour during opening times.

Do you ship internationally?

We do. Import duty and local taxes are the recipient's responsibility. See Shipping.

Something arrived damaged. What now?

Email contact@mintcollectablestcg.com with your order number and a photo, ideally including the packaging. We'll sort it.
